This is the biggest pieces I've ever done. It is 14" x 17". It's taken a while but it's a rewarding process.
I had intended to add the photos as I worked on it but that didn't quite happen. I decided to post the "almost done" piece and the photos of the progress here and now. I still need to do some more shading and I'm not sure if I want to add any more tangles.
For it's size I think it deserves a name. Any suggestions?

New beginnings
Since my last post I've been pretty busy trying to close a few lose ends at work so I could retire. After 41 years at United Airlines I did it I retired. I think it is going to take me awhile before it sinks in. To celebrate Larry (who's been retired for 3 years) decided we needed a vacation. And because we can we're spending 2 weeks in Maui.
I'm finding all kinds of new inspirations for tangles. I've developed one based on a rettan pattern. I don't think anyone has developed it yet. If someone has please let me know. I'm calling it ko'oko'o which is the Hawaiian word for cane. Zentangle founder Maria Thomas posted an article about frames and lately I've found myself looking at mats and frames. I think this tangle could be adapted as a impressive mat.
I also have a few pieces I've been working on and I'll soon be posting. In the mean time here is a new tangle for you to work with.

Ok so it wasn't done.
I looked at it online and decided it really wasn't done.
Maybe it's done now. I'm not sure if a piece is ever done.

Finished done and thinking about the next one.
The shading really makes a difference. I'm happy with it. I think it's done. But who knows tomorrow I may see something that needs to be added or changed.

Ok so I forgot to take a photo after I worked on it last week. There is a big difference between this photo and the last update. It's still coming along quit nice.

New Tangle - this and that
I'm calling it "this and that" because when you have a space that you don't know what will work you can fill it with a little "this and that". It's a free form that's outlined with 2 auras. Then fill it with circles, squares, rectangles, triangles or free form shapes. I like the small circle outline on the outer most aura. And I think that the shading on the inner aura sets it off nicely as well.

New piece follow along 4
Here is an update on the other piece. It very differenct than the other piece but I'm liking it so far.
Finished
My husband Larry and I spent a few days in sunny California where I was able to finish my ZIA. It's amazing at how the shading changes the piece.

Follow Along 3
Well I finished the tangling one and will start to shade it. You'll see it change before your eyes. I think shading brings the most dramatic change to the piece. I should have this done in the next day or two.
I also did a little work on the other ZIA piece.

Follow along
People aways ask me what I'm working on and I always seem to have something. I decided I'd share that here with all of you.
I'm actually working on two 9x12 ZIA's. Because you don't know what they'll look like when they are done, I think it will be fun to document their progress and watch them develope.
I'll update my posts as they progress.
Let me know what you think...
One almost done. It needs a few more tangles and lots of shading.
And one just beginning.

New Tangle
I have several patterns that I will be publishing in the future. This one however is one of my favorites. It also looks lacey. I though it would be a good one to start with being that Valentines Day is going to be here soon.
I call it Birds on a Wire.

A snowy day
Working from home is so much sweeter when you can look out your window and think isn't that snowy weather simply beautiful.
There has to be a Tangle in there somewhere.

It's a beginning...
I'm not sure where this is going to lead but it's a beginning and one I've wanted to take for a very long time. Let the journey begin.
